The precision of a balance or a test weight is measured through a calibration (precise measurement) and is confirmed with a written certificate. The customer has the assurance that the correct measure in the tolerances frame is indicated.
At KERN, all calibrations procedures are subsequent to the international DKD (German Calibration Service) regulations
Calibration is basically a non national "verification" for all areas that are not subject to official verification.
When a company is accredited to ISO 9000ff, it agrees to test periodically the precision of all measuring equipments within its quality assurance systems (ISO 9000, QS 9000, GLP, GLM). This is also required for its weighing measuring equipment.
